HAVE YOU GOT someone who is negative and drags you down whispering in your ear? You may even find that they live in your own house, creating doubt and creating a little black place in your mindset that didn’t exist before you started a conversation with them.
Sure, you could argue that because of that person’s life, he or she has a reason to carry on and moan. After all, they’re really not making enough money / didn’t marry the right person / is in the wrong job or casts a hideous reflection in the mirror.
You could argue that the people with positive attitudes have less to bitch about because things are going well for them.
Yes, I do see the point in your argument, but it’s logically flawed.
The moaners actually focus on the things that are going wrong in their lives. Their situation is likely to be equal, or even better than the bloke with a perpetual smile on his face, or the lady with a good attitude as she goes for chemotherapy.
You’ve got to be successful in your own mind before success comes your way. Once your thinking changes, so does your reality.
Actively search out others of the same mould as you. Don’t allow yourself to be infected by the venomous words of the serial-whinger. Make a hasty exit if you see one coming towards you… by running away, arms flailing, hair flying.
Yes, you’re permitted to give a little girly scream as you run as well – if that would make you feel better.
